Quadrennial Convocation 2025
The AWF Quadrennial Gathering is the most important international event for the Alliance family. Every four years, pastors, leaders, and members from over 50 countries come together to strengthen our unity, renew our vision, and move forward in the global mission God has entrusted to us.
In 2025, this gathering will take place from October 8 to 12 in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, where we will experience a time of worship, teaching, testimony, and fellowship. Together, we celebrate what God is doing through The Alliance around the world, and we reaffirm our commitment to go deeper in Christ, further in mission… and to GO TOGETHER as one family.

“Going Together”
- E-Visa process at the airport (if you have received pre-approval for an E-Visa):
- Before entering the queue for passport control you will need to go into the E-visa office on the left to obtain your visa. DO NOT queue for passport control before obtaining your visa.
- Present your passport and the E-Visa pre-approval document at the first desk and you will be given a ticket with a sequence number for the queue for obtaining visas
- Watch the screens closely for your ticket number to be called and the desk number that you must go to.
- Present your E-Visa pre-approval document and passport to the agent. The agent will take your fingerprints before issuing your visa in your passport.
- Free Wi-Fi Access in the passport control and baggage claim areas:
- Free Wi-Fi network: AERIA_Orange wifi (no password required).
- This Wi-Fi network only works in the passport control and baggage claim areas. It DOES NOT work in the Arrivals Hall.
- Passport control:
- If you are not a citizen of a West African country, you will need to queue under the sign “AUTRES NATIONALITES” to proceed to passport control.
- At the top of the queue you will find a Health Ministry checkpoint. You will need to present your passport and your international vaccination certificate for Yellow Fever to the agent for verification.
- The Passport Control Officer will take your photo and fingerprints as part of the process.
- Baggage delivery is very slow and can take over an hour. You will probably complete the E-Visa and passport control process before baggage delivery commences.
- Airport transfer: If you have completed the travel details requesting an airport transfer, you will be collected in the airport Arrivals Halls and taken directly to the Yamoussoukro (3 hours by road), or to your overnight accommodation at UACA/FATEAC (depending on your time of arrival), before travelling to Yamoussoukro the following day.
- The Welcome Team will be behind the AWF Logo or passenger name in the Arrivals Area. DO NOT LEAVE the building under any circumstances until you have been met by the welcome team.

- The Ivory Coast is a cash based economy and credit cards are rarely accepted and payments nearly always need to be made in cash in the local currency.
- Use the ATMs at the airport to withdraw cash in CFA Francs.
- Both the President Hotel and the Le Rocher Hotel accept payment by credit card (Visa and Mastercard). Neither hotel accepts payment in dollars, but the Hôtel President will accept payment in euros.
- In Yamoussoukro, there are four ATMs located in the hall of the President Hotel, but they sometimes do not work due to network issues. However, these ATMs only work with Visa cards and DO NOT WORK with Mastercard.
- The 13th AWF Quadrennial Convocation and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Alliance World Fellowship will take place in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, from October 8-12, 2025.
- The 50th anniversary of the founding of the Alliance World Fellowship will be celebrated at the Boigny Félix Houphouët Foundation for Peace Research in Yamoussoukro on the morning of Sunday October 12, 2025. The auditorium has a capacity of 2000 and is located 2 km from the President Hotel.
- All of the Alliance family in the Ivory Coast, CMA de la Côte d’Ivoire (CMA CI), are mobilized behind their President, Rev. Noël N’Guessan, is preparing to welcome all of the global Alliance family to Yamoussoukro.
- A second celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Alliance World Fellowship will also take place in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, on October 19, 2025.
- The registration fees (excluding accommodation and dinner) are as follows:
- Fee per participant before July 31: $390 USD
- Fee per participant after August 1: $440 USD
- Lunch will be provided at the Quadrennial venue, Hotel President, Yamoussoukro and is included in the registration fee.

- Registration deadline: The registration deadline is September 20, 2025.
- The national church (CMA CI) will organize the transfer from the Abidjan Airport to Yamoussoukro (3 hours by road)
- Arrival constraints: All delegates who arrive at Abidjan Airport on a flight after 4:00 p.m. will be collected by the national church and taken to overnight accommodation in UACA/FATEAC in Abidjan before travelling to Yamoussoukro the following day. It is important to know your flight arrival and departure times before booking your hotel room in Yamoussoukro.
- Departure constraints: All delegates who depart from Abidjan Airport on a flight before noon (12:00 p.m.) will have to leave Yamoussoukro and travel to Abidjan the day before. They will be transported by the national church and taken to overnight accommodation in UACA/FATEAC before being taken to the airport for their flight on the following day.
- Overnight accommodation and meal in UACA/FATEAC (Alliance Theological Faculty), Abidjan.

- All hotel rooms are double rooms with one double bed and the price per night, including breakfast, is in local currency 27 000 CFA, excluding taxes (〜$55 USD, including taxes). These rates are valid for all bookings received before August 30, 2025.
- Bookings for Hotel Le Rocher are to be made, by sending an e-mail (see details below) to the local reservation team at yaokouassi.inphb@yahoo.fr. The hotel will send a confirmation letter within one week of receiving the booking. This booking confirmation can then be used to obtain an e-Visa (see below). Payment is due on arrival at the hotel.
- The booking e-mail sent to either hotel should contain the following information:
- Indicate “AWF Quadrennial” in the subject line of the email.
- Indicate the number of rooms required.
- Full names, as indicated in passports, and nationality of the persons who will be staying in the room
- Country of residency of the persons who will be staying in the room
- Citizens of countries that do not require visas to enter Côte d’Ivoire:
- ECOWAS member countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Togo.
- Other countries exempt from visa requirements: Central African Republic, Congo (Brazzaville), Morocco, Mauritania, Seychelles, Singapore, Chad, Tunisia, Philippines.
- Citizens from all other countries can apply for an E-Visa on-line at a cost of 73 EUR / 83 USD.
- The E-Visa process should only be started 3 months before your date of arrival in the Ivory Coast. The only website officially recognized and approved by the Ivory Coast government for visa applications is SNEDAI: https://snedai.com/e-visa/
- The online application for an e-visa is only valid for holders of ordinary passports with a validity period of at least 6 months
- E-Visa pre-registration requires the applicant to register their personal information, travel information, local contacts and to upload the following essential documents:
- Passport identity page(s)
- Proof of reservation of a round-trip plane ticket
- Accommodation certificate provided by the hotel.
- These 3 documents must be scanned in JPG/PNG/GIF/PDF format and the maximum size per file must be less than or equal to 1 Mb.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcXoS4XhixU - Within 48 working hours of completing the application process (including payment), the SNEDAI website will send you an E-Visa approval pre-enrolment document from the DST (Territorial Surveillance Directorate). This E-Visa approval document will be valid for 3 months from the date of approval.
- Arrival at Abidjan airport: The E-Visa applicant presents their E-Visa approval pre-enrolment document from the DST, along with their passport to the Immigration - Visa booth where their fingerprints and photo will be taken. The visa will then be printed and issued immediately.
- Vaccination Requirements: You will need to present an INTERNATIONAL Yellow Fever vaccination certificate in order to enter the country.
- All travelers are required to have health insurance with international coverage to cover unexpected medical expenses during your trip, including medical evacuation.
- Malaria is common to the Ivory Coast region and cases of Dengue Fever have also been reported. Travelers to the area are strongly advised to obtain large sums of insect repellent and close-fitting clothing for protection.

- Translation: English is the main language at the conference and simultaneous translation will be provided in English, French and Spanish using the ListenWIFI App to stream audio via Wi-Fi to your own smartphone. Please remember to install the App on your phone and to use headphones/earphones.

- Crossing the road: Many vehicles, in particular taxis and motorcycles, do not stop for pedestrians, even at red lights. Be very careful and be very vigilant when crossing the road.
- Safety in public places
- Use the YANGO taxi app or pre-arranged private taxis.
- Avoid any protests and demonstrations. Public protests and events can turn violent. Avoid large gatherings, monitor the local media and follow the advice of local authorities.
- Carry any valuables out of sight and do not wear expensive-looking jewellery or watches.
- Avoid using public transport after dark.
- Do not walk on your own along quiet streets where there is no traffic or pedestrians.
- Do not walk after dark.
- Take transport to use ATMs or to exchange money at the bank.
- Prevent card fraud by keeping your bank card in sight when paying bills.

HEALTH PRECAUTIONS
Malaria: Malaria is endemic in Ivory Coast and malaria precautions are essential. Avoid mosquito bites by covering up with clothing such as long sleeves and long trousers especially after sunset, using insect repellents on exposed skin and, when necessary, sleeping under a mosquito net.
Check with your doctor or nurse about suitable antimalarial tablets before travelling.
First Aid: There will be a First Aid station at the Quadrennial.
- Ivory Coast, also The Ivory Coast and formally Côte d’Ivoire, officially the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, is a country located on the south coast of West Africa. Ivory Coast’s political capital is Yamoussoukro in the center of the country, while its economic capital and largest city is the port city of Abidjan. The official language of the republic is French, with local indigenous languages also being widely used that include Baoulé, Dioula, Dan, Anyin, and Cebaara Senufo. In total, there are around 78 different languages spoken in Ivory Coast.
- Yamoussoukro is located inland, northwest of the country’s economic and cultural hub, the coastal city of Abidjan. It’s known for the enormous Basilica of Our Lady of Peace of Yamoussoukro, with its stained-glass windows and towering dome. The city is the birthplace of 20th-century president Félix Houphouët-Boigny, whose former palace has a crocodile-filled lagoon.
- Weather: Yamoussoukro features a tropical wet and dry climate with a lengthy wet season covering the months of March through October, and a shorter dry season that covers the remaining four months. Average temperatures for October vary from 20°C (minimum) to 30°C (maximum).
- Electricity: There are two associated plug types, types C and E. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type E is the plug which has two round pins and a hole for the socket’s male earthing pin. Ivory Coast operates on a 220V supply voltage and 50Hz.
- Food: Ivorian dishes are spicy and often include root vegetables, maize, rice and peanuts eaten with chicken or fish. The national dish is fufu, boiled cassava and plantains. There are also dishes such as kedjenou, a chicken stew made with tomatoes, aubergines, okra and peanuts and calalou, a vegetable stew.
- RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TRAVELLING TO RESTAURANTS OR SHOPS
- Install the YANGO app on your phone. YANGO is the UBER equivalent in West Africa.
- Yamoussoukro is not a very big city and the cost of a ride in a local taxi using YANGO will rarely exceed 1 Euro.
- You can also hail a taxi (white vehicle with red and green horizontal stripes) but you will need to pay in cash
- Always wash your hands with soap and water or sanitising gel just before every meal. There are often wash hand basins located in the dining space specifically for this purpose. It is deemed to be very impolite and culturally unacceptable if you do not wash your hands publicly before eating.
- Credit cards are not accepted. Ensure that you have enough cash and lower denomination notes to pay the restaurant bill. Never use your left hand to offer payment or to give something to anybody.
- A bowl of very spicy tomato and pepper based sauce is often placed on the table. To be avoided if you do not like spicy food.
